How Tryouts Work
Confirm your age group
Age groups are determined by USA Volleyball. Check the Tryout FAQ if you are unsure which age group your athlete should register for.
Register for tryouts
Registration is needed prior to tryouts. Choose your athlete's age group and complete registration through LeagueApps. The Atlas tryout fee is $40.
Attend your tryout
Athletes will be evaluated on volleyball skills, athleticism, coachability, communication, and competitiveness.
Receive your result
Families will receive written communication within 24 to 48 hours following tryouts with their athlete's result and next steps.
Optional · Train With Us Before Tryouts
Want to get in the gym beforehand? Atlas clinics and open gyms give athletes an opportunity to train in our facility and work with our coaches before tryouts.
OVR Tryout Windows · Ohio
11U and 12U
Atlas tryout: Saturday, October 17, 2026
OVR window opens October 16, 2026. Signing deadline October 20 at 6:00 PM. Any tryout after October 20 requires a minimum 48 hour decision window.
13U and 14U · Atlas Black
Atlas tryout: Saturday, October 24, 2026
OVR window opens October 23, 2026 for 13U and 14U athletes. Signing deadline October 27 at 6:00 PM. Any tryout after this deadline requires a minimum 48 hour decision window.
OVR Tryout Membership
Athletes must have a valid OVR tryout membership through USA Volleyball to participate. The membership costs $10 and includes secondary medical insurance.
Atlas tryout registration is separate and costs $40 per athlete.
